Avoid factors favorable to gas gangrene infection:
- Restricted blood supply to the affected body region (e.g., due to diabetes mellitus, vascular disease, etc.).
- Malnutrition (endogenous infection)
- Mixed infections with other anaerobes or enterobacteria.
