Goldenrod

Latin name: Solidago virgaureaGenera: Composite flowering plant: Goldwundkraut, Heidnisch, WundkrautPlant description: A perennial that can grow up to 1 m high. The stem is round, striped, the leaves are fissured and alternately arranged. The flowers are yellow, stand in clusters or panicles, and have a faint aromatic smell. Flowering time: August to October Occurrence: Spread over dry meadows, light woods and sunny hills.

The herb (without roots), prefers the flowering parts. It is dried gently in bunches.

Healing effects and use of goldenrod

Stimulation of kidney activity in bladder and kidney inflammation, painful urination and especially for flushing therapy The drug may be supportive in skin diseases and liver diseases. It is often a component of so-called “blood cleansing teas”.

Preparation of goldenrod

Goldruten-Tee: 1 to 2 heaped teaspoons of Goldrutenkraut with 1⁄4 l of cold water pour over, heat to boiling, 2 minutes to steep, strain. Drink 3 cups daily, spread over the day.

Application in homeopathy

Solidago is used here as a draining and regulating renal agent. Especially if the kidney disease occurs after an infection or is accompanied by skin rashes or joint pain due to gout or rheumatism. Commonly used: D2
