Unfortunately there is no vaccination against scarlet fever. Nevertheless, it is important to prevent an infection. Healthy people should have as little direct contact with infected persons as possible.
If this cannot be avoided, it is important to wash your hands thoroughly afterwards and to disinfect them with hand disinfectant if necessary. After an infection, it can also be useful to wash bed linen, soft toys and clothing thoroughly and to replace hygiene items such as toothbrushes.
