Is there Meridol mouthwash without alcohol?
Meridol mouthwash, which is normally available in drugstores, is a product that does not contain alcohol. It is therefore particularly suitable for irritated gums and is usually described as very mild in taste. In comparison, however, there are also many mouthwashes that contain alcohol. Although the effect may be greater in the short term, the alcohol damages the gums in the long term.
What happens if the mouthwash is accidentally swallowed?
If small amounts of meridol are accidentally swallowed, there is no danger. The ingredients are poorly absorbed by the body. In such a case it is recommended to drink a glass of water immediately afterwards.
If large quantities are taken, such as the entire bottle, it can be dangerous. High doses of the ingredients can cause reactions in the body or attack the mucous membranes in the esophagus or stomach. Furthermore, nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea can occur.
