Meridol Mouthwash

Introduction

In addition to daily dental care, optimally consisting of brushing, the use of interdental brushes and dental floss, the use of mouth rinsing solution should be carried out as a supplement. There are different suppliers of these mouthrinses. In general, mouthrinses aim to reduce bacteria in the oral cavity and thus prevent caries, plaque or gum inflammation. Furthermore, they are supposed to give a fresh and pleasant breath.

Indications of meridol mouthwash

According to the manufacturer, the use of Meridol mouthrinse is recommended for irritated gums, difficult oral hygiene, as well as in case of a strong tendency to form plaque. The aim is to maintain a healthy oral flora and prevent the development of caries or inflammation by inhibiting bacteria. Oral hygiene is often complicated by advanced age, prosthetic fittings or disabilities.

In such cases an additional use of mouthwash is recommended. A distinction is made between mouthwashes that are available in pharmacies and freely available mouthwashes. The difference lies in the concentration of the ingredients and the indications for use. While the freely available mouthrinses are recommended for the daily support of oral hygiene, the medical mouthrinses are prescribed e.g. after periodontosis treatment, for gum inflammations or for wearers of fixed braces.

Meridol Mouthwash against bad breath

A mouthwash should not only have an anti-inflammatory effect but also give a fresh and pleasantly smelling breath. For patients who often suffer from bad breath or an unpleasant taste in the mouth, a mouthwash is a good way to reduce this. Bad breath is always a very unpleasant feeling.

It can be caused by residual food or heavy deposits on the tongue and teeth. A mouthrinse, in this case meridol, can inhibit the bacteria that are ultimately responsible for bad breath, which are 60-80% on the tongue and decompose the leftover food. In addition to brushing teeth and flossing, the use of tongue cleaners can also help reduce bad breath. By cleaning the back of the tongue, a large part of the bacteria is eliminated.
