The following symptoms and complaints may occur together with miscarriage (abortion), or threatened or incipient miscarriage:
Leading symptoms
- Vaginal bleeding (bleeding from the vagina), cervical bleeding (bleeding from the cervix).
- Contraction-like pain
- Absence of fetal vital signs (signs of life).
Associated symptoms
- Opening/shortening/softening of the cervical canal (cervical canal).
- Back pain
- Discharge of amniotic fluid
- Stagnation of uterine growth – no growth of the uterus.
- Fever and purulent discharge suggest an infectious complication (abortus febrilis)
Notice: During nidation (implantation of the early germ), vaginal (spotting) bleeding is clinically possible, which can reach the intensity of menstrual bleeding.
