Leading symptoms
- Man: painful and difficult urination with intentional bladder emptying.
- Woman: difficult (painful) urination, often in combination with pollakiuria (urge to urinate frequently without increased urination), with intentional bladder emptying.
The following symptoms and complaints may indicate stranguria:
Leading symptoms
- Man and woman: unsuppressible urge to urinate with pain.
Note: Pain with urination alone is called alguria.
