Pharmaceutical form and dose

Peppermint is mainly used in tea (besides camomile). Many teas are mixed with each other and thus enhance the effect. To prepare a tea, two to three teaspoons of peppermint leaves are brewed with 150 ml of hot water, let it steep for 10 minutes, drink three times a day.

Peppermint oil is used internally for digestive problems. One to four drops are taken up to three times a day. For irritable bowel in the form of capsules resistant to gastric juice. For general digestive disorders and fatty foods, loss of appetite, menstrual problems and nausea, drinking a cup of peppermint tea can alleviate the symptoms. External use of peppermint oil:

  • For inhalation 3 to four drops in hot water
  • For skin problems as ointment with menthol.
  • For tension headaches/headaches, migraines and weather sensitivity as 10% solution.
  • For joint pain (arthralgia), muscle tension and neuralgia (nerve pain)
