Phlebitis Migrans: Examination

A comprehensive clinical examination is the basis for selecting further diagnostic steps:

  • General physical examination – including blood pressure, pulse, body weight, height; furthermore:
    • Inspection (viewing).
      • Skin [Phlebitis migrans usually heals spontaneously after two to three weeks. It may leave a slight hyperpigmentation]
      • Extremities (including measurement of the circumference of the lower leg on both sides).

Square brackets [ ] indicate possible pathological (pathological) physical findings.
