- X-ray of the thorax (radiographic thorax/chest), in two planes.
- Pleural sonography (ultrasound examination of the pleura (pleura) and pleural space) – for detection (proof) of pleural effusion.
Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination and mandatory laboratory parameters – for differential diagnostic clarification.
- Abdominal ultrasonography (ultrasound examination of abdominal organs) – if upper abdominal involvement is suspected.
