Prophylaxis

A change in habits should be made in the event of persistent incorrect strain on the musculus trapezius in everyday life. Incorrect postures at the desk should be recognized and corrected, e.g. by adjusting your office chair, table height and monitor correctly. You should also make sure that you avoid carrying loads on one side, e.g. your shopping bag.

An incorrect mattress should also be considered as a trigger. A correctly performed warm-up before exercise reduces susceptibility to functional disorders of the trapezius muscle. Also, make sure that you do not stretch in the painful area during exercise.
