Schüssler salt No. 6

Introduction

The sixth Schüssler salt, potassium sulphate, has the main function of “purifying”, i.e. cleaning the body from toxins – or rather, excess substances – of any kind. It therefore supports the natural function of the liver to break down foreign and potentially harmful substances. The mode of action is due to the improvement of oxygen uptake into the cell.

As its name indicates, it consists of one potassium and one sulfur atom. In the entire body, potassium is responsible, among other things, for the undisturbed transmission of stimuli to the nerve tracts. Sulfur is involved as a so-called “cofactor” in vital biochemical reactions such as cell respiration and thus also in detoxification.

However, the sulfur contained in salt is only one substance which, together with many others, ensures the cellular respiration process. In most cases, if the oxygen uptake into the cell is disturbed, there is not only a lack of sulfur, but also of at least one other substance. It is therefore important to note that potassium sulfate should not be used alone, but always in combination with other salts, in order to eliminate the cause of the complaints specifically and completely.

Fields of application of Schüssler Salt No. 6

Potassium sulfuricum is used whenever the body shows that it wants to get rid of or secrete something, mostly toxins or excess substances. Such a condition can manifest itself in the skin with acne, eczema, psoriasis, dandruff, or age or pigmentation spots. Potassium sulfuricum can help especially with purulent skin rashes.

In general, this Schüssler salt is recommended for inflammations, especially chronic ones. Other areas of application include rhinitis with a runny nose or cough: Potassium sulfuricum helps to eliminate mucus in the respiratory tract in both acute and chronic cases. A further area of application is the targeted support of the detoxification function with regular medication.

Since many medications are broken down by the liver, supplementary therapy with potassium sulfuricum can relieve the liver. The combination with Schüssler Salt No. 7 (Magnesium sulfuricum) or No. 10 (Sodium sulfuricum) makes sense, as these salts are an enhancer for the detoxification function of potassium sulfuricum.
