Sinupret® forte is taken in the form of tablets. In order to ensure efficacy, the dosage described in the package insert should be followed. One tablet of Sinupret® forte should be taken three times a day (morning, noon, evening) unchewed and with a sip of water.

It can be taken independently of meals, but if you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take it after meals. There are no data available on adjusting the dose for kidney and liver dysfunction. Sinupret® forte should be used for a maximum period of 7 to 14 days.

If the existing symptoms have not improved or worsened after this period, a doctor should be consulted to investigate other possible causes of sinusitis. The use of Sinupret® forte during breast-feeding should always be discussed with the treating physician prior to taking it. No studies have been conducted to date on the effects of Sinupret® forte on the newborn baby.

However, no indications of damage of any kind have been found to date. The use of Sinupret® forte during breastfeeding must be weighed up together with a physician with regard to risk and benefit. It may be necessary to replace it with another drug during this period.

The tablets of Sinupret® forte are so-called coated tablets. Dragees are tablets that are coated with one or more layers. Various sugars are often used for this purpose.

The use of coated tablets has several advantages. On the one hand, the bitter taste, which is due to the ingredients of Sinupret® forte, can be eliminated by coating them with sugars. On the other hand, the coating offers protection against environmental influences (e.g. water, air, etc.)

and against gastric acid. Therefore an exact dosage of the ingredients that are absorbed by the body into the bloodstream is possible. When using dragées, however, one must take into account that these tablets are not divisible.

They are also somewhat more expensive than normal tablets. Sinupret® forte are tablets that are green, round and biconvex and have a smooth surface. Sinupret® forte is not subject to prescription and is freely available in pharmacies.

There are three different pack sizes (20, 50 and 100 tablets per pack). A pack of 20 tablets is available for a price starting at about 5€, while a pack of 50 tablets starts at about 12.50€ and a pack of 100 tablets starts at about 22€.
