Soap spirit can be produced in pharmacies and drugstores. Retailers can also order it from specialized service providers (e.g. Hänseler).
Composition
Soap spirit is obtained by saponification of olive oil with potassium hydroxide. It also contains water and ethanol. Manufacturing instructions can be found in the ÖAB and DAC.
Fields of application
As a cleaning agent and skin irritant.
