- Small blood count
- HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) determination – to rule out pregnancy.
- 17-beta estradiol
- Progesterone
- FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone)
- Taking a Pap smear
Laboratory parameters 2nd order – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, etc. – for differential diagnostic clarification.
- Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate).
- Possibly prolactin, testosterone, TSH
