Summary
A cervical blockage can suddenly be triggered by a wrong movement or an unfavorable position while sleeping. To release this blockage, the affected muscles are loosened and the malpositioned cervical vertebrae are brought into the correct position by careful mobilization. If the cervical blockage still remains, a manipulation is carried out, which is performed gently by a well-trained manual therapist. In general, strengthening and loosening exercises of the shoulder-neck area should reduce the frequent occurrence of a cervical blockage, because the more stable the cervical spine is, the less susceptible it is to blockages or tension.
