Tetanus: Diagnostic Tests

Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnosticsand obligatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Electrocardiogram (ECG; recording of the electrical activity of the heart muscle) – for suspected cardiac arrhythmias.
  • X-ray of the chest (X-ray thorax/chest), in two planes – if cardiopulmonary (heartlung) complications are suspected.
  • X-rays of the affected body regions – if fractures (broken bones) are suspected.
