- Electrocardiogram (ECG; recording of the electrical activity of the heart muscle) – for suspected cardiac arrhythmias.
- X-ray of the chest (X-ray thorax/chest), in two planes – if cardiopulmonary (heart–lung) complications are suspected.
- X-rays of the affected body regions – if fractures (broken bones) are suspected.
