Traumeel for movement difficulties.

This active ingredient is in Traumeel

Traumeel contains a number of herbal ingredients – but only in homeopathic doses. It works according to the homeopathic principle and is intended to stimulate the body to heal itself. Important ingredients include

  • Comfrey (Symphytum officinale)
  • Monkshood (Aconitum napellus)
  • St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum)
  • Camomile (Matricaria recutita)
  • Marigold (Calendula officinalis)
  • Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
  • Narrow-leaved coneflower (Echinacea)

The medicine is intended to cover a wide range of inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The complex remedy is often used as Traumeel gel or Traumeel S tablets.

Laboratory studies have shown that Traumeel inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory messenger substances such as IL-1b, IL-8 and TNF-α in immune and intestinal cells by up to 70 percent. The defense function of the cells remains intact.

When is Traumeel used?

The Traumeel effect extends to various diseases of the musculoskeletal system that are based on inflammatory or degenerative processes. The effects of the Traumeel ingredients add up.

  • Important areas of application for Traumeel ointment are
  • Sprains and dislocations
  • Bruises, blood and joint effusions
  • Tendon sheath and bursitis
  • Tennis elbow

Traumeel is also used for broken bones and after operations or injuries due to its decongestant components. Traumeel-S (tablets) can also be used for flu-like infections.

What side effects does Traumeel have?

In general, no side effects in the classical sense are to be expected with homeopathic medicines due to the extremely low dosage. However, a typical phenomenon with the use of Traumeel is the so-called initial aggravation, which means that the symptoms may even increase at the start of treatment. The initial aggravation is interpreted as a sign that the homeopathic remedy is having an effect.

In addition, allergic reactions are possible due to the Mercurius solubilis contained and hypersensitivity reactions to the herbal ingredients. These can manifest as a sudden skin rash and itching, rarely also facial swelling, shortness of breath, dizziness and a drop in blood pressure.

The carrier substance of Traumeel-S tablets is lactose. If you are lactose intolerant, you should therefore switch to another form of administration in the form of Traumeel drops, Traumeel S ointment or Traumeel injection.
