Treatment and therapy

Seizures in babies can have a different prognosis depending on the cause. Febrile convulsions do not usually cause any consequential damage and the seizures stop in the course of time. If seizures occur as a result of inflammatory changes, rapid treatment is necessary.

If the therapy is initiated in time, no secondary symptoms are usually to be expected. In most cases, seizures in the context of a cramping disorder do not lead to developmental damage either. If the medication is adjusted sufficiently, the babies can live as far as possible without seizures and, depending on their form, the seizures will stop as they grow.
