Various additives for the breast wraps

Everybody knows the strongly acrid, tear-inducing smell of onions. This also causes the secretion in the bronchi to loosen and liquefy. This makes it easier to cough it up.

In the case of bronchitis, onions can also be placed on the chest compress. To do this, peel and cut an onion roughly and place it on the inner cloth. The aromatic vapours not only free the bronchial tubes but also the mucous membranes of the nose.

However, this sulphurous smell is very unpleasant for some people. Therefore it is also possible to combine the onions with rather fragrant essential oils. This does not reduce the success of the treatment.

Potatoes are also often used for chest compresses. In contrast to onions, they should be boiled and then crushed between two layers of kitchen paper. In this way the potatoes can then be applied to the inner cloth.

It is important that their temperature is not too hot. Because of the thin inner cloth, too high a temperature can cause a burn of the ribcage. The potatoes are often used as a wrapping additive because they store heat very well.

Unlike a hot cloth, potatoes release the heat longer and more continuously. Honey is also a very popular household remedy that is often used for colds. Everyone knows the famous tea with honey.

Honey is so popular because it has an antibacterial effect. Honey should be warmed slightly before you put it on the inner cloth of the breast compress. Here too, it is important that the honey is not made too hot.

This can otherwise lead to burns. To make a curd wrap for the ribcage, you should first warm the curd to body temperature in a water bath. Then you spread it carefully with a knife on the inner cloth and cover the layer with a second cloth.

In the last step you fix the wrap with a dry outer cloth. Quark is often used because it has a relaxing, expectorant and decongesting effect. It effectively combats the annoying symptoms of a cold.

Retterspitz® is a well-known herbal therapeutic agent for various complaints. It has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect and is often used for joint complaints. Retterspitz® can be applied as a tincture to the inner cloth of a chest compress.

In this way Retterspitz® unfolds its effect in the bronchial tubes. This relieves the symptoms of colds and improves the general feeling of sickness in patients. A chest compress with lavender oil is an effective remedy for cold symptoms.

Lavender has a calming effect and relieves the irritation of coughs. Chest compresses with lavender oil can be used for both dry and slimy coughs. It is recommended to use the compress especially in the evening, as lavender also promotes sleep. The smell of lavender oil is also perceived by many as much more pleasant than the smell of onions.
