Venous Leg Ulcer: Medical History

Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of venous leg ulcer.

Social history

Current anamnesis/systemic anamnesis (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Have you noticed any skin changes on the lower legs?
    • Ulcer
    • Hyperpigmentation
    • Eczema
    • Hardened, atrophic skin
    • Whitish discoloration of the skin
  • If so, how long have these been present?
  • Do you have varicose veins?
  • Do you suffer from allergies? Intolerance of ointments, creams, etc.?
  • Do you have pain in the legs? If so, how severe are they and when do they occur?

Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.

  • Are you overweight? Please tell us your body weight (in kg) and height (in cm).
  • Do you eat a balanced diet?
  • Do you get enough exercise every day?

Self anamnesis incl. medication anamnesis
