Laboratory parameters of the 1st order – obligatory laboratory tests.
- Small blood count
- Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein).
- Fasting glucose (fasting blood glucose), if necessary oral glucose tolerance test (oGTT).
- Blood gas analysis (BGA)
- Albumin (blood protein)
Laboratory parameters 2nd order – depending on the results of the history, physical examination and obligatory laboratory parameters – for differential diagnostic clarification.
- Blood levels of zinc, iron folate, vitamin C, selenium – for large ulcerations (> 100 cm2) and suspected malnutrition.
- Histological (fine tissue) processing of biopsies (tissue sampling) from the ulcer – in therapy-refractory forms to exclude a tumorous event.
- Smear from the ulcer – if a tissue infection is suspected (for targeted antibiotic therapy).
- Autoimmune diagnostics – for suspected vasculitis (vascular inflammation).
