What painkillers are recommended after a Caesarean section?
Pain after the caesarean section is usually normal. After all, it is a surgical procedure on the lower abdomen where muscles and other tissues are cut through. Especially directly after the Caesarean section, even the smallest movements can cause pain, which usually lasts for several days.
To relieve the pain, mothers are usually given painkillers such as ibuprofen. If the pain does not improve with ibuprofen, the doctor can also switch to other stronger medications or a drip. In the best case, ibuprofen or paracetamol should then be used for therapy at home.
