2nd order laboratory parameters – depending on the results of the medical history, physical examination, etc. – for differential diagnostic clarification
- Small blood count
- Urine status (rapid test for: pH, leukocytes, nitrite, protein, glucose, blood), sediment if necessary.
- Fasting blood glucose (fasting glucose).
- Renal parameters – urea, creatinine – if nephrotic syndrome is suspected 24h urine examination to determine creatinine clearance and proteinuria differentiation serum protein – if nephrotic syndrome is suspected.
- Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol – in the presence of xanthelasma.
- Tensilon test (i. v. administration of a short-acting cholinesterase inhibitor; Tensilon test positive if there is an improvement in the performance of movements (repeated opening and closing of the eyes) compared with the findings before the injection → evidence of neuromuscular transmission disease) – in the presence of suspected myasthenia gravis.
- Biopsy – if malignancy (malignancy) is suspected.
