1st order laboratory parameters – obligatory laboratory tests.
- Pathogen detection in blood, punctate, bone marrow, lymph node biopsy.
- Serology [in case of detection of Ak against T. cruzi as well as corresponding clinical symptoms, direct pathogen detection should be aimed for].
Laboratory parameters 2nd order – depending on the results of the history, physical examination and the obligatory laboratory parameters – for differential diagnostic clarification.
- Small blood count
- Differential blood count
- Inflammatory parameter – CRP (C-reactive protein)
- Renal parameters – creatinine and urea.
- Liver parameters – alanine aminotransferase (ALT, GPT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST, GOT), glutamate dehydrogenase (GLDH) and gamma-glutamyl transferase (gamma-GT, GGT).
- Coagulation parameters – PTT, Quick
- CSF puncture (collection of cerebrospinal fluid by puncture of the spinal canal) for CSF diagnosis.
- Blood cultures, smears from drains, etc.
