Anal Vein Thrombosis: Diagnostic Tests

Medical device diagnostics are usually not required.

Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics, and obligatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Proctoscopy (rectoscopy; examination of the anal canal and lower rectum) – required only in cases of deep thrombosis localized in the anal canal (refers to the complete or partial occlusion of a vessel or cardiac cavity by a thrombus (blood clot))
