Skin and subcutaneous (L00-L99).
- Lymphangitis (inflammation of the lymphatic vessels).
Cardiovascular system (I00-I99)
- Elephantiasis – abnormal enlargement of a body part due to lymphatic congestion.
- Lymphedema – increase in tissue fluid caused by damage to the lymphatic system.
- Recurrent erysipelas (≥ 2 episodes in three years).
- Sinus vein thrombosis (SVT) – occlusion of a cerebral sinus (large venous blood vessels of the brain arising from duraduplications) by a thrombus (blood clot); clinical presentation: headache, congestive papules, and epileptic seizures (in facial erysipelas)
Infectious and parasitic diseases (A00-B99).
- Toxic shock syndrome (TSS; toxic shock syndrome) – rapidly progressive inflammation caused by a toxin from the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus.
Musculoskeletal system and connective tissue (M00-M99).
- Myositis (muscle inflammation)
- Necrotizing fasciitis – foudroyant life-threatening infection of the skin, subcutis (subcutaneous tissue), and fascia with progressive gangrene; often involves patients with diabetes mellitus or other conditions that lead to impaired circulation or lowered immune defenses
