Associated symptoms

Both fever and headache are general symptoms, as mentioned above, which can indicate many different diseases and causes. Accordingly, they can be accompanied by a variety of different symptoms. First and foremost, the typical symptoms of an infection are mentioned here, such as cold or flu symptoms such as a runny nose, cough, mucus in the airways, exhaustion and aching limbs.

However, infections in other organ systems such as the gastrointestinal or urinary tract can also cause fever and headaches and then cause corresponding symptoms. Care should be taken if back pain in the spinal column area is added and this is intensified when one leg is to be lifted in a supine position or one knee is to be pulled towards the chest. This is usually an indication of an inflammation of the meninges and should be clarified as soon as possible.

Like diarrhea, vomiting in combination with fever and headaches can indicate an infection of the gastrointestinal tract. The body also loses a lot of fluid through vomiting, and the resulting deficiency can in turn cause headaches.Fever is another reaction of the body to the existing infection. It should be clarified what could have caused the infection.

If there are traces of blood in the vomit, a doctor should also be consulted as soon as possible. Also, if there is an increased intracranial pressure, nausea, dizziness and thus vomiting can occur. Especially if vomiting without prior food intake or the onset of symptoms delayed to the onset of fever, a doctor should be consulted as this may be an infection of the brain or meninges.

Diarrhea as a symptom accompanying fever and headache usually indicates an infection localized in the gastrointestinal tract. By definition, diarrhea is diarrhea or diarrhoea when a liquid bowel movement is defecated more than three times a day. Like fever, diarrhea is a reaction to an inflammatory process, as the infectious pathogen is intended to be flushed out of the body. However, a lot of fluid is also flushed out of the body, which can lead to dehydration (dehydration). As this can lead to headaches, it is recommended to drink a lot of water in case of diarrhoea to compensate for this deficiency as early as possible.
