While fever is diagnosed by a simple temperature measurement with an appropriate clinical thermometer, headache, as a sensation perceived by the affected person, can only be diagnosed by a conversation or by the person’s statement. According to the medical definition, fever starts at a temperature of 38°C, sometimes 38.5°C is also given as the limit. Temperatures below 37°C are called “subfebrile”, i.e. below the fever.

Since fever and headache together can in turn indicate a number of possible complaints. Therefore, such symptoms, if they persist for several days, should require a certain amount of diagnostic work.
