Brain metastases | Metastases in prostate cancer

Brain metastases

Brain metastases can occur in prostate cancer, but are rare. If they do occur, symptoms such as headaches, nausea, vomiting, clouding of consciousness and speech disorders can degenerate. Possible treatment options include surgical removal in the case of large findings or radiation of the metastases or even the entire brain. However, therapy is only recommended if it is expected to relieve symptoms or improve quality of life.

Bladder Metastases

Bladder metastases are rather untypical for prostate cancer.Since the bladder is anatomically located close to the prostate gland, strong growth of the tumor can lead to a spread into the bladder. The spread of the tumor into the bladder can lead to the accumulation of urine up to the kidneys. The so-called urinary congestion kidneys can cause flank pain in the patient and can lead to kidney weakness (renal insufficiency).
