Dosage
In patients with arterial hypertension, the initial dose of Blopress® should be 8 mg once daily. This is usually also the dose for permanent therapy (maintenance dose). In case of non-response, the dose can be further increased to 16 mg and a maximum of 32 mg daily. In patients with heart failure, a dose of 4 mg once daily should be started. A bi-weekly increase up to 32 mg daily is possible.
Costs
On a private prescription 56 tablets of Blopress® 4 mg cost about 39 euros. 56 tablets with a dosage of 8 mg cost about 49 Euro, 16 mg about 57 Euro and 32 mg about 70 Euro. With a cash prescription, 56 tablets of Blopress® with a dosage of 4 and 8 mg each cost only the prescription fee, for 16 and 32 mg up to 2 euros are added to the prescription fee.
