Duration/Prediction | Hot flushes without menopause

Duration/Prediction

The duration and prognosis of hot flushes without menopause also depends strongly on the cause. Most causes can usually be treated well. Hypoglycaemia, allergies or spicy foods are short-term triggers of hot flushes.

If such situations are avoided, hot flushes should also improve within a short time. Hormonal causes in particular often last for a long period of time, depending on the exact cause. Often they have to be treated by a doctor before improvement occurs.

If medication triggers hot flushes, a change in the medication or the active ingredient can bring improvement within a shorter period of time. Stress can cause hot flushes in the short term, but also over a longer period of time.
