Etofibrate (C18H18ClNO5, Mr = 363.8 g/mol is a diester of clofibric acid and nicotinic acid linked via ethylene glycol.
Effects
Etofibrate (ATC C10AB09) is lipid-lowering. It lowers elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels and increases HDL.
Indications
For the treatment of severe hypertriglyceridemia and mixed hyperlipidemia.
