Eye Shadow

Eye shadow is a makeup applied to the eyelids. This is usually applied with small brushes or special applicators.

It is used to change the expression of the eyes, to correct expression weaknesses or to send out certain signals (e.g. erotic charisma).Meanwhile, there are also liquid or creamy eye shadows that can be applied directly with eye shadow sticks – similar to lipsticks.

Eye shadow belongs to eye cosmetics together with mascara and eyeliner products.

How to find the right color?

First, the most important information: never take an eye shadow in your eye color. Your eyes would literally be smothered. Contrasts are better. The following color combinations go together:

  • Blue eyes – brown, gray, orange, black, white.
  • Green eyes – purple, brown, black, white
  • Black eyes – brown, chestnut, black, white, navy, gray.
  • Brown eyes – to this fit in principle all colors.
  • Light brown eyes – garnet, green, purple

Note: If you have deep black eyes, please do not take flashy colors.

How to apply eye shadow?

To make the eyeshadow last longer, first apply some loose powder on the eyelids. Use one light and one dark shade of eyeshadow. Light colors have a brightening effect, while darker colors add depth and intensity to the look.

  • Using the applicator tip, add the darker shade to the center of the crease.
  • Then smudge the color outward and a little more gently inward, creating a crescent-shaped shadow in the crease of the eye.
  • Then apply the light color to the movable eyelid. Spread it from the outside to the inside and gently smudge it with the broadside of the applicator.

Notice:

  • As a rule, eye shadow has a shelf life of at least 24 months.
  • The applicator should be cleaned regularly at short intervals.
