Mascara

Mascara (Ital. mascara, similar to maschera ‘mask’), also called mascara or mascara spiral, is used to color, lengthen, thicken and emphasize the eyelashes.

Due to the dark tint of the mascara, the ends of the eyelashes stand out more clearly.

Mascara, in addition to the color, may also contain artificial silk or nylon fibers. These enable the optical effect of actual physical lengthening.

Mascara, together with eye shadow and eyeliner products, belongs to eye cosmetics.

How to apply mascara to the eyelashes?

Mascara intensifies the look and at the same time is ideal for those who want a natural makeup or hardly want to wear makeup.Choose between mascaras that visually lengthen the eyelashes and mascaras that give the eyelashes more volume. There are water repellent and waterproof mascaras. If you prefer long-lasting mascara, suitable for any weather and sports, you should use a waterproof mascara. To use: First, apply mascara to the upper lashes, starting as close as possible to the lash line. Look down while doing this and make sure to give the lashes the right curl. Then mascara the lower lashes.Note:

  • Slipping with the mascara brush can cause injury to the cornea of the eye!
  • Contact lens wearer should avoid eyelash lengthening mascara products, which can get the fibers under the contact lens and rub.
  • If you are tired or already have small wrinkles, do not apply too much mascara or no color at all on the lower lash line, because this further emphasizes the signs of fatigue.

For mature skin, makeup should be determined by “contouring”. Therefore, a contrast should also be created under the eyes to visually rejuvenate the facial contours. If you have any further questions about type-appropriate mascara, please contact your make-up artist, beautician or health advisor or doctor.
