Fusscremen are available, for example, in pharmacies and drugstores. As a rule, they are cosmetics and only rarely approved drugs.
Structure and properties
A foot cream is a preparation for external use, intended for application to the feet. Typical ingredients are (selection):
- Ointment base, e.g. with lanolin, fats, fatty oils, petrolatum, macrogols.
- Water, glycerin, ethanol
- Keratolytics such as urea (urea), acids.
- Essential oils and their components, e.g. mountain pine oil, rosemary oil, tea tree oil, peppermint oil, menthol.
- Plant extracts, e.g. arnica, chamomile extract.
- Vitamins, e.g. dexpanthenol, vitamin E
- Fragrances
- Preservatives, emulsifiers
Effects
Depending on the composition, the creams have oily, water-binding, skin care, analgesic, activating, cooling or warming, deodorizing, wound healing and keratolytic properties. As a rule, a foot cream imparts several effects.

The areas of application include:
- Daily foot care
- Calluses, chapped, stressed, dry skin.
- Tired, heavy, burning, and aching feet.
- Sweating
- For foot massages
- Cold feet
- Injuries, wounds
Dosage
According to the instructions for use. The creams are usually applied and massaged one to several times a day, preferably after showering, bathing or a foot bath.
