Ginseng: Applications and Uses

Ginseng is used worldwide as a strengthening agent (tonic). Ingredients of ginseng

Ginseng root contains 3-4% ginsenosides: more than 30 different ginsenosides have been identified, which have been assigned the indices Ra to Rs. The content of these substances increases with the age of the plant and is significantly higher in the hair roots than in the main root. Other efficacy-determining constituents include essential oil, phytosterols, and peptidoglycans.
