Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis: Medical History

Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), formerly Wegener’s granulomatosis.

Family history

  • What is the general health status of your relatives?
  • Are there any diseases in your family that are common?
  • Are there any hereditary diseases in your family?

Social history

  • What is your profession?

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Have you ever noticed any of the symptoms described? Do you feel listless, ill?
  • Do you have a fever? If so, for how long? What is the temperature?
  • Have you noticed any night sweats?
  • Have you noticed any skin changes?
  • Have you recently gone through an infection?

Vegetative anamnesis including nutritional anamnesis.

  • Have you lost any weight? If so, how much weight at what time?

Self history including medication history.

  • Pre-existing conditions (rheumatic diseases; infectious diseases).
