An all-around healthy balanced diet is more than just products and their preparation. It starts at the supermarket. The resolutions are great, but so are the selection and offers when shopping. With a few tricks and simple rules, you can stay on top of things when you visit the supermarket in the future.

You probably know it: It’s only when you get home that you realize you’ve bought too many items and, ultimately, items that aren’t absolutely necessary. How often do you reach for items on the shelf without thinking about it. Is it the colorful packaging, the current offer or pure habit? The selection of individual items usually happens subconsciously and out of reflex. A few tips will help you make a conscious decision when shopping in the supermarket.

Ready-made meals usually contain many calories and additional chemicals that the body does not need. But once the ravenous appetite is great, it is quite possible to make an exception.

Fruits and vegetables are healthy and contain many vitamins, minerals and fiber. They are delicious, varied in taste and usually contain few carbohydrates and hardly any fat. Enjoy fruits and vegetables carefree and several times a day, also as a perfect snack in between meals. Be inspired by the selection of different fruits and vegetables in the supermarket and try something new more often. Many types of vegetables can be combined very well in cooking.

But don’t buy too much, because the shelf life is limited. Power for the body Meat, fish and carbohydrates are the source of energy for our body. But here, too, the right choice is crucial. Cereal and whole grain products are healthier, better tolerated and contain less sugar. This is especially true for bread, rolls or pasta and rice. Meat and fish provide the proteins and high-quality fatty acids that are important for the body.

Choose fresh and rather low-fat goods – this is noticeable in taste and digestibility. In the case of dairy products, it is advisable to choose products that are as low in fat as possible or in small portions. Fats and oils are equally important for the body. The differences are great: prefer olive oil and margarine instead of butter. A bread with jam tastes at least as good with cottage cheese as with butter.

A sweet temptation

Sweets, snacks and chocolate sometimes have to be and they make you happy, as long as you enjoy them in moderation. Especially here the temptation in the supermarket is great. Because what you buy once is also eaten quickly. Decide on one or two products that you like and do not buy more than really necessary. Next time you go shopping, take more time and choose individual items carefully. Not only will you be able to compare prices, but you may discover new products or important information about ingredients and nutritional information on the packaging. After all, healthy eating starts with the selection and purchase of food.
