Herbal wrap
Alternatively, all herbs that are effective as tea against stomach cramps can be used to make a herbal wrap. To do this, pour a small amount of hot water over the herbs and let them steep, then pour off the excess water and place the warm herbs in a small bag directly on the upper abdomen.
Potato wrap
For the potato wraps, cook the potatoes with their skins on as usual until they are done. Then mash the potatoes with skin and put them on a cotton or linen cloth. Wrap the potatoes in a package and place them on the upper abdomen.
Healing earth
Healing earth is available as a preparation for both internal and external use. Dissolved in water, healing earth can be drunk and then binds toxins and excess fluid in the digestive tract. This way the digestion can be brought back into balance.
Therefore, healing clay is especially effective for stomach cramps in connection with diarrhoea. Healing clay compresses can also provide relief by mixing the healing clay with warm water. Apply the warm healing clay to the stomach area and cover with a cloth. The warming compress has an antispasmodic effect.
Light massage and apple vinegar
Under certain circumstances, a light abdominal massage may also have an antispasmodic effect. You should not press too hard! Massage oils, e.g. peppermint oil, can also be used for the massage, which can have a calming effect on the stomach due to its antispasmodic effect.
Apple vinegar is a well-tried household remedy in the treatment of stomach cramps. Add 3 teaspoons of apple vinegar to a glass of water and drink. Apple cider vinegar is particularly suitable if the stomach cramps are accompanied by feelings of fullness. Apple cider vinegar stimulates digestion and helps to regulate the function of the gastrointestinal tract.
