- Characteristic wheals:
- Size: pinhead to coin-sized.
- Color: appear pale to bright red
- Occurrence: occurring individually or also flowing together into larger areas.
Note: If many wheals form an exanthema (large-area rash), it is called urticaria.
- Often severe pruritus (itching.
Warning signs (red flags)
- Fatigue, tiredness + fever + night sweats (night sweats) → think: chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
