Homeopathy | Pain after wisdom tooth surgery

Homeopathy

Homeopathy, like small home remedies, can also be used in addition to the prescribed medication to accelerate wound healing and alleviate symptoms. If there is pronounced swelling or hematoma of the soft tissue at the affected area, globules of arnica in potency D12 can be used. 5 globules are taken three times a day after meals.

In case of swelling and pain, calendula can also help, which are also prescribed in potency D12. Calendula is also taken three times daily with five globules. Besides these classic homeopathic remedies, Bellis perennis, Chamomilla recutita and Belladonna are also used. Consultation with a dentist or alternative practitioner is recommended.

Pain in other teeth after surgery

Especially the neighboring tooth of the wisdom tooth can be located within the surgical field due to its direct proximity. This fact leads to the fact that the lever for support is also placed directly on the posterior molar by the surgical method. Due to the force applied, the remaining posterior cheek tooth can be irritated after the wisdom tooth removal and also cause pain. This irritation of the tooth can continue for several days and lead to chewing problems, inflammatory pain and slight throbbing of the tooth.

The patient often cannot distinguish whether the pain felt is the wound pain after the tooth removal or the tooth in front of it causes it. The pain should be minimized at the latest after removal of the stitches seven to ten days after the procedure. However, the wound is often not sutured.

Suturing is, however, appropriate in the case of blood coagulation disorders. If there is still severe pain at the check-up appointment, the dentist should inspect the posterior molar to determine the persistent pain situation. In many cases, however, it is not the tooth that causes the pain, but the surrounding tissue, which can also become inflamed quickly. If the mucous membrane is inflamed, the dentist can apply anti-inflammatory ointments to relieve the pain. In the case of severe inflammation, antibiotics can also be prescribed to remove the inflammatory germs from the body’s circulation more quickly.
