Homeopathy | Treatment of phlebitis

Homeopathy

For the treatment of phlebitis there are homeopathic approaches in addition to general medical applications. One homeopathic remedy that is recommended is Arnica, which should be taken over several weeks. But also witch hazel can be taken.

The accompanying symptoms also play an important role in choosing the right substance. For the treatment of phlebitis, especially for more difficult courses, it can be assumed that homeopathic measures alone are not sufficient. Their effect is generally considered to be small.

  • Apis: In the presence of ankle edema or swelling
  • Echinacea: basic treatment
  • Mercurius Solub H: For burning and stabbing pain and sensitivity to touch
  • Lachesis and/or Belladonna: In case of a very acute inflammation (in this case they can be taken hourly and stopped if the inflammation improves)
  • Pulsatilla: For existing tension pain due to congested veins

There is no scientific evidence of the effectiveness of salts. For phlebitis, the Schuessler salt No. 3 (Ferrrum phosphoricum) D12 is recommended.

If there is also pain, the Schuessler Salt No. 1 (Calcium fluoratum) D12 in alternation with Schuessler Salt No. 4 (Potassium chloratum) D6 should have a soothing effect.

In addition, if varicose veins exist, one can still take the Schuessler Salt Schuessler Salt No. 1 (Calcium fluoratum) D12 in alternation with Schuessler Salt No. 11 (Silicea) D12.

For the prophylaxis of a thrombosis Schuessler salt No. 4 (potassium chloratum) D6 in alternation with Schuessler salt No. 7 (magnesium phosphoricum) D6 should be helpful.

Which doctor treats phlebitis?

The first point of contact for phlebitis is the family doctor. As a rule, the family doctor can treat the phlebitis. In complicated or lengthy cases, he will refer you to a specialist.

The removal of varicose veins, which is often associated with phlebitis, is carried out by a vascular surgeon. In addition, there are specialised spa centres in Germany where specific and detailed treatment is carried out.
