How can the effect be reduced?
The effect of Ecstasy can be reduced mainly by low dosage. Taking a whole pill at once is unnecessary and dangerous – with one half, one third or even only one quarter most people also reach a state of intoxication and reduce the risk of overdose. Interactions with other substances also play an important role in reducing the potency of MDMA.
Alcohol and ecstasy mutually reduce their effect. The parallel consumption of amphetamine (speed) usually leaves only the activating effect. However, the cardiovascular system is put under extreme strain.Cocaine and heroin mask the effects of ecstasy, but also lead to states of severe confusion (cocaine) and acute circulatory problems (heroin).
The circumstances in which ecstasy is used can also have a negative influence on its effectiveness. For example, if the person is afraid of the intoxication or is not in a good mood, this can reduce the effect.
