Insoles
For everyday support, there are a variety of orthopedic insoles that support or correct the foot position and thus improve the joint mechanics. Furthermore, there are insoles that serve to absorb shocks and thus protect the ankle joint, e.g. during prolonged stress. It should always be kept in mind that an insole is a passive aid, which can relieve symptoms, but has no influence on your own muscular stabilization. The use of insoles should therefore always be discussed with a specialist. At best, an accompanying physiotherapeutic therapy will take place.
What to do if you have pain in the ankle joint?
Pain in the ankle joint should first be diagnosed by a doctor. If the physician finds arthrosis, the patient should check how he or she loads his or her joint in everyday life and, if necessary, initiate relieving measures. It is particularly important in the case of arthrosis to keep the joint as mobile as possible. Regular movement of the joint under as little mechanical stress as possible is advisable.
