Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).
- How long have the complaints existed?
- Where exactly is the tightness feeling located? In the middle? Lateral?
- Does the discomfort occur during empty swallowing or eating?
- Is swallowing painful?
- Is the discomfort permanent or intermittent?
- Have the complaints worsened?
- Does the discomfort occur in all body positions or only when lying down, sitting, etc.?
- Do the complaints occur in connection with special circumstances, such as a voice strain or psychological stress?
- What accompanying symptoms do you have?
- Has your voice changed?
- Are you hoarse?
- Do you suffer from heartburn?
- Do you have to regurgitate swallowed food?
Vegetative anamnesis including nutritional anamnesis.
- Do you smoke? If yes, how many cigarettes, cigars or pipes per day?
- Do you drink alcohol? If yes, what drink(s) and how many glasses per day?
