Osteoma: Medical History

The medical history (history of the patient) represents an important component in the diagnosis of osteoma.

Family history

  • Are there any diseases in your family that are common? (Tumor diseases)

Social anamnesis

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Do you suffer from headaches?
  • Do you have a feeling of pressure in the nose area or in the head in general?
  • Do you suffer from persistent or increasing pain in the skeletal system for which there is no apparent cause?
  • Have you noticed swelling or deformity in the joints and/or bones* ?
  • Do you suffer from lack of smell?
  • Do you have nasal discharge?
  • Have you had a sinus infection recently or currently?
  • Do you have any vision problems such as double vision?
  • Is your mobility limited?
  • Have you recently had a bone fracture* without force?
  • How is your physical resilience to be classified?
  • Have you noticed any other symptoms?

Self anamnesis incl. medication anamnesis

  • Previous diseases (diseases of the musculoskeletal system, tumor diseases).
  • Allergies
  • Environmental history (ionizing radiation/X-ray/radioactivity).
