What does the Pflegestärkungsgesetz 3 (Care Strengthening Act 3) contain?
The Nursing Care Strengthening Act 3 (Pflegestärkungsgesetz III) introduced a wide range of new regulations and measures designed to further improve the care of people in need of nursing care.
Strengthening local authorities
One focus of the Nursing Care Strengthening Act 3 concerns the municipalities: they play an important role in the care of people in need of nursing care, for example through assistance for the elderly or the promotion of voluntary commitment in the care of the elderly. This role of the municipalities is to be further expanded by the Care Strengthening Act 3.
To this end, the federal and state working group has drawn up recommendations on how to further improve coordination between assistance and care services close to home and the long-term care insurance funds. The aim is to promote and expand local care services in such a way that people in need of care can remain in their familiar home environment for as long as possible.
The recommendations of the federal and state working group envisage, for example, that the local authorities should take on a leading role in providing care advice. For example, up to 60 municipalities are to set up model projects for care advice for a period of five years. There, local authorities can provide all the advice on all issues relating to care.
