Pimples on the scalp
Pimples on the scalp appear in the majority of cases similar to the pimples found on the face, décolleté or back. Usually, clogged pores are the beginning of the problem. The sebaceous glands usually end at the hairline.
If a blockage occurs, bacteria can multiply in the excretory duct and at the hair root. The result is a purulent pimple. They are mainly found at the hairline along the forehead and neck.
However, many suddenly appearing pimples spread over the entire scalp can be an indication of allergies and should therefore be clarified by a doctor. Pimples caused by allergens are usually accompanied by severe itching and wetting of the skin. Triggers can be newly used hair care products.
If there is a suspicion of a possible allergic reaction, these should not be used under any circumstances until an allergy test by a doctor has provided no certainty. In case of doubt, it is always better to fall back on another care product. Quite a few people also react allergic to newly used detergents.A reaction can occur when wearing a headgear or while sleeping on freshly washed bed linen.
To relieve the itching and accelerate the healing process, natural remedies such as camomile tea can also be used. Lukewarm, good results can be achieved by massaging it into the scalp after normal hair washing. The tea should not be rinsed out of the hair.
Perfume-free, pH-neutral shampoos should be used. The chemical coloring of the hair should be avoided in the case of numerous pimples on the scalp, as this can be made immensely worse. A healthy diet also helps to reduce the number of pimples, at least those caused by clogged pores.
Care tips for a healthy scalp
Our scalp is stressed every day by frequent washing, different styling products and especially in the cold season by strong temperature fluctuations. Since many people do not want to do without daily hair washing, you should at least pay attention to which product you use for it. Shampoos without fragrances and preservatives are best suited.
You should also avoid hot blow-drying and protect the scalp from the sun in summer. There are several ways to do something good for your scalp. A peeling for the scalp is already being offered by various dermatological practices and is supposed to have the same effect as on the face or décolleté.
Remains of styling products that cannot be removed by daily hair washing are removed. In addition, chemical peeling with fruit, glycol or salicylic acid is also used for acne and light-induced skin cancer precursors such as actinic keratosis. Different creams and lotions, on the other hand, can contain special active ingredients and, depending on the specific case, can be used for various conditions such as different forms of hair loss.
As a household remedy against dry scalp, some like to use natural olive oil, for application, let the oil work overnight. Different tonics that are offered for scalp care usually contain urea. Urea is nothing other than urea, it can bind moisture and thus counteracts the itching and the feeling of tension that are caused by a dry scalp.
