Best-selling author Dr. Ulrich Strunz claims: if you want to lose weight, you can still eat more. In his book “die diät” he promises fewer pounds and more joie de vivre – with the right balance of vital substances, protein and exercise. Overweight is for Dr. Strunz a sign of the lack. It lacks the building blocks that boost fat breakdown: protein and amino acids.
Lose weight through hormones
At the same time, the nutrient deficiency reflects a starvation scenario, so hormones begin to hoard fat in fat cells. The result: body weight increases. Hormones are the keys to getting and staying slim for Dr. Strunz: The stress hormone cortisol and insulin make the pounds proliferate. Testosterone and the growth hormone STH, on the other hand, crank up fat burning – if they are properly stimulated:
- Testosterone production is boosted (also in women) by zinc, manganese, protein, muscle training, running, walking and positive thinking.
- The growth hormone STH is produced primarily during deep sleep. Meditation and muscle training also promote production – provided that sufficient protein building blocks are available.
Nutrition program in three stages
The nutrition program according to Dr. Ulrich Strunz consists of three stages:
- Vital Fat Burning
- Interval diet
- Forever Young Diet
Below we present these stages in more detail.
Stage 1: Vital Fat Burning
This strategy allows you to lose up to one kilo per day. The key to success: only protein and vital substances are allowed. They bring the fat burning to full speed, because for the utilization of protein the body must permanently fall back on its fat depots. And this is how it works:
- Protein drink: every four hours there is a protein drink, which can be stirred pure with milk or combined with fruit, depending on taste. The amino acids contained release the growth hormone HGH – the fat melts. In addition, the immune system is stimulated. Protein can also be taken as a concentrate from the pharmacy (best with carnitine, the crucial substance for fat burning).
- Fruits, salads and vegetables: fruits, salads and vegetables ignite the second stage of fat burning. Minimum amount per day 800 grams. The best sequence: fruit salad for breakfast (with nuts and grains – without bananas, dates, pineapple, apricots). At lunch, a salad of seasonal leaf lettuce, supplemented with vegetables and fresh apple pieces. In the evening, steamed vegetables or salad.
- Phosphorus, zinc, magnesium and vitamin C: no diet works without them: they are the main fuels for a smooth fat burning. Typically, this diet phase of Vital Fatburning lasts a week, but it can be extended as desired. What must be on the shopping list for Vital Fatburning, show the numerous recipes in the book.
But diet alone is not enough: 30 minutes of sport a day bring the metabolism up to speed, for example, Nordic walking: in this running with two sticks, the body is trained holistically, the pulse is increased to the level for optimal fat burning, the shoulder and chest muscles are tightened. Also suitable as a fat burner: walking or running.
Stage 2: interval diet
From the second week, each Vital Fatburning day is followed by a Forever Young day. The Forever young program is designed to enhance physical and mental performance for brain workers and executives. It combines regular, pulse-controlled light training with a diet rich in vital nutrients and mental training. The diet’s interval principle prevents the so-called “yo-yo effect,” which is caused by the body throttling its metabolism, causing weight to rise again.
Stage 3: Forever Young Diet
The “endless” Forever Young diet assumes that plenty of exercise and a balanced diet will lead to a healthy lifestyle without excess pounds. Protein drinks according to Dr. Ulrich Strunz
Within the framework of stage 1 of the nutrition program of Dr. Ulrich Strunz, there is a protein drink every four hours, which can be stirred pure with milk or combined with fruits, depending on your taste. Here you find a selection of protein drinks after Dr. Strunz:
Fig buttermilk
- Ingredients: two fresh figs (not green), two teaspoons of sea buckthorn whole fruit with honey, two tablespoons of soured milk, two tablespoons of protein powder (from the pharmacy), 100 milliliters of ice-cold buttermilk, 50 milliliters of still mineral water, a pinch of cinnamon.
- Preparation: finely puree the flesh of figs with sea buckthorn and soured milk. Add protein powder and buttermilk, mix again briefly. Fill with water, season with cinnamon. Garnish with fig wedge and one or two cinnamon sticks. Drink immediately.
Kiwi Grapefruit Drink
- Ingredients: one kiwi (100 grams), one sprig of mint, two teaspoons of lemon juice, two teaspoons of maple syrup, 150 milliliters of grapefruit juice, two tablespoons of protein powder, three ice cubes.
- Preparation: cut a slice of kiwi for garnish. Peel kiwi, dice, puree with lemon juice, maple syrup and half of the grapefruit juice in a blender for 15 seconds. Add protein powder and remaining juice, blend again for 10 seconds. Pour mixture into a glass with ice cubes, garnish with kiwi and mint.
Apple Elderberry Drink
- Ingredients: One piece of apple (about 75 grams), two teaspoons of lemon juice, two teaspoons of acacia honey, 75 milliliters of cold unsweetened apple juice, two tablespoons of protein powder, 75 milliliters of cold elderberry mother juice (health food store), three ice cubes, a sprig of lemon balm.
- Preparation: apple wash, peel, cut into pieces, put in blender with lemon and apple juice, puree. With protein powder and elderberry juice again briefly mix. Pour into a glass with ice cubes, garnish with lemon balm and apple split.
